Grant Gee’s Everybody Digs Bill Evans scoops Silver Bear at Berlinale

Hot Property is very proud to annouce that at the 76th Berlinale Grant Gee’s film was awarded the Silver Bear for Best Director by Jury Head Wim Wenders. With powerful performances by Anders Danielsen Lie, Bill Pullman, Laurie Metcalf, Barry Ward, Valene Kate, Katie McGrath, beautiful screenplay written by Mark O’Halloran. Wim Wenders said “unbelievable performance by Bill Pullman,” “incredibly shot in gorgeous black and white with some of the most beautiful compositions we’ve seen in a long time.” Grant said, “thank you wonderful cast and crew and fantastic editing by Adam Biskupski and especially Anders Danielsen Lie. Thank you to one person from whole production, producer Janine Marmot who was with me from day one, a woman of immense taste and tenacity. The imagery – best work, thank you Piers McGrail.”

Simon Pummell’s animated films to screen at The Eye, Rotterdam

On the 24th February the EYE Filmmuseum, Rotterdam, will screen Simon Pummell’s new animated film Frankenstein’s Dream (here’s the TRAILER to view). This Hot Property Co-production will screen together with four recently restored 2k projection prints of Pummell’s earlier animations from the EYE archive.

Global Screen Fund awards co production support to Grant Gee’s EVERYBODY DIGS BILL EVANS

Adapted for the screen by Mark O’Halloran, from the novel Intermission by Owen Martell, produced by Janine Marmot and Alan Maher (Cowtown Pictures), Executive Producers Albert Berger and Ron Yerxa, and starring Anders Danielsen Lie. The film will shoot in Ireland in February 2025.
